Workshops

From time to time, QUANTA organises small QL shows, called workshops, in various areas. Admission is free to all. QL traders and software authors may be in attendance at these workshops, giving you the chance to meet them and to discuss any problems or to see their products before you buy.

It is also a good place to meet QL "experts" to sort out any QL-related problems you may have. Members can bring their QL systems along with them to set up and spend an enjoyable day's QLing with like minded QLers.

More show pictures can often be found on Tony Firshman's website.

There is usually a programme of talks and discussions on a wide variety of QL related subjects, such as new products, teach-in sessions, policy discussions, questions and answers and so on.

The dates and venues are advertised in QUANTA and 'QL Today' magazines, and can often be found on various QL users' Web sites as well.

Venue for 2012 AGM

All QL enthusiasts, users and just those curious about the little black machine, are cordially invited to the Quanta Workshop and AGM being held on Saturday and Sunday 24th-25th March 2012.

The Saturday workshop opens at 11AM on the Saturday (doors open at 10AM for setting up). On Sunday, the meeting opens at 10AM and the Annual General Meeting will be held at 2PM. The venue will be in Manchester at the 3rd Davyhulme Scout Headquarters, "The Endeavour", Conway Road (off Lostock Road), Davyhulme, Manchester M41 0TF. All welcome to the workshop - members and non-members alike.

The venue is a short distance off the M60 motorway, junction 9. Click here for a mapor enter the postcode M41 0TF into most mapping websites.

If anyone would like help to find a place to stay or information about public transport in the area, please contact the Chairman or Secretary. One B&B we can suggest is The Thistlewood - see http://www.thethistlewood.co.uk/

We hope to have a short program of talks at the Workshop, for example we hope Adrian Ives of Memory Lane Computing will be demonstrating the QL hardware products such as Ser-Usb, Q-Bus and possibly even the Peter Graf SD Card project.

Tables are available for those who'd like to bring their QL or emulator along with them.

Please remember that admission is free and we welcome both members and non-members to the Workshop.

It is hoped that as in 2010 the 4-day event will include trips to local museums etc as well as QL activities!

This is a follow-up for a successful meeting in 2010 - pictures of that event are available on Gerhard's website at http://www.kuel.org

Further details will be available in due course from Gerhard's website at http://www.kuel.org
